Mindfulness and Meditation Class

Mindfulness and Meditation Class In-Person

What is Mindfulness?  It is a word we hear quite often, but what exactly does it mean?

Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention to things.  It is awareness of how our perceptions create our reality and how our perceptions may be shifted to contribute to our happiness and wellbeing.  We develop a
different relationship to problems and suffering. We practice being present and learn tools to cope with stress.

An estimated 75% to 90 % of all doctor visits are for stress-related issues.  Stress is a factor in five out of the six leading causes of death-- heart disease, cancer, stroke, lower respiratory disease, and accidents. The type A personality has a higher risk of high blood pressure and heart problems.  Stress contributes to everything from obesity to headaches, gastrointestinal problems and Alzheimer’s.

Including Meditation and Mindfulness into our life can improve your health and quality of life tremendously! The benefits of meditation and mindfulness are extensive and backed by science! The research proves it not only reduces illness and disease, but it strengthens our immune system!  Studies have also shown it to be just as effective as medication in reducing chronic pain! It improves concentration, performance, overall mood and self-esteem.

During these sessions we will discuss the different aspects of Mindfulness and practice the tools which include meditation. This is not based on any religion.  All religious beliefs are welcome and you will easily be able to incorporate this practice into your own set of beliefs and life!
