Partial Solar Eclipse and Total Solar Eclipse Coming Our Way! In-Person
On Saturday, October 14th, 2023, the Greater Rochester Region will get to experience a partial solar eclipse which will be the perfect warm-up for April 8th, 2024, as we'll be in the direct path of a total solar eclipse for the first time in almost a century. A total solar eclipse occurs when a portion of the Earth is engulfed in a shadow cast by the Moon which fully blocks sunlight. Join us as Dan Schneiderman, the Eclipse Partnership Coordinator at the RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center), discusses the science & history of solar eclipses and how to prepare for this extraordinary astronomical opportunity.
NOTE: This program will be held in the Victor Fire Hall's meeting room. Please park at the library and walk to the fire hall, as the fire hall parking lot is reserved for fire personnel, for obvious reasons.
